Tirta Empul is a Hindu temple famous for its holy water, where Balinese Hindus go for purification. Built in 962 A.D. during the Warmadewa dynasty, the temple features a pond with a spring providing fresh, holy water. Overlooking the temple is a presidential palace, built in 1954 for Indonesia's first president, Soekarno, now used to host visiting dignitaries and important guests.
Kemenuh village, located near Ubud, offers beautiful natural scenery and is a potential tourist destination. The village is known for its many art shops selling various wooden sculptures made from ebony, ulin, teak, sandalwood, and more. Visitors can watch woodcarvers at work and see the process firsthand. The wood carvings from Kemenuh are also exported abroad.
