Held at the Aruna Senggigi Resort and Convention Lombok, the First Digital Economy Working Group Meeting (DEWG 1) as part of the G20 Indonesia Presidency was officially opened by the Minister of Communications and Informatics (Kemenkominfo) the Republic of Indonesia H.E. Johnny G. Plate. During the opening ceremony, Secretary General of the Kemenkominfo Ms. Mira Tayyiba and the Troika members Italy and India delivered their speeches. The meeting was organized in a hybrid manner where the Indonesian participants were present in person while the delegations of G20 member countries and related stakeholders joined the meeting virtually. The meeting served as a forum for delegates and invitees to delve into discussions regarding the utilization of digital technology to achieve stronger recovery by empowering digital technology inclusively and sustainably. The discussion served as building blocks for various relevant digital issues across sectors and promoting a new data-centric governance. As an appreciation to the local dance performers, the committee invited students of SMKN 1 and SMKN 4 Mataram to perform a traditional music and dance show such as Gendang Beleq, Gandrung, and Kembang Sembah during the welcoming dinner at Senggigi Beach Front.
