The G20 Ministerial Conference on Women's Empowerment (MCWE) was held at 5-star Sofitel Bali Nusa Dua Beach Resort and was attended by 300 delegates from G20 countries, several other invited countries, NGOs, and the private sector. The theme of the conference was "Recover Together, Recover Stronger to Close Gender Gap and it focused on 3 main issues that were motivated by the fact that during the Covid-19 pandemic, women were the group that experienced the most significant impact. The Minister of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection, H.E. Bintang Puspayoga, S.E., M.Si. stated that the G20 MCWE is Indonesia's commitment to continue efforts to equalize perceptions related to gender equality and women's empowerment issues. The three main issues that became strategic and relevant to the current pandemic conditions were: (a) Increasing Access for Women and Girls to Health Services, Land Ownership as Well As Services for Disabled Women and Women in Rural Areas, (b) Increasing Investment and Technology Infrastructure and Digital Access, and (c) Policy to Eliminate Discrimination and Development of Gender-Specific Data. During the conference, delegations also attended a gala dinner where participants were entertained by Female Gong Kebyar music performance at the Nusa Dua beach front. On the last day, all delegates participated in the full day field trip to Penglipuran Traditional Village in Bangli, Kintamani Volcano, and Celuk - the center of gold and silver smiths.
