The ASEAN Ministers on Energy Meeting (AMEM) was held at the Bali Nusa Dua Convention Centre and was chaired by the Indonesian Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources H.E. Arifin Tasrif. The meeting was attended by 350 delegates, including energy ministers from all ASEAN member states, as well as representatives from the United Nations, the International Energy Agency, and other international organizations. During the meeting, various issues were discussed, including energy transition, energy security, and energy efficiency. The ministers also adopted the Bali Declaration on Energy Cooperation, outlining the commitment of ASEAN countries to collaborate on energy security, sustainability, and affordability. Discussions focused on the challenges facing the region's energy sector and potential cooperation on energy projects, such as the development of renewable energy sources and regional energy infrastructure. The declaration calls for cooperation on several initiatives, including the promotion of renewable energy sources and improvements in energy efficiency. It also emphasizes addressing climate change and ensuring the sustainable development of the region's energy sector. The AMEM was a successful meeting that resulted in significant agreements.
