In conjunction with the 2023 ASEAN Summit, the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia convened a two-day meeting at the St. Regis Hotel in Kuningan, Jakarta. Under the chairmanship of H.E. Airlangga Hartarto, the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, the meeting addressed four initiative documents scheduled for presentation at the 43rd ASEAN Summit. These documents include the Leaders' Declaration on Strengthening Food Security and Nutrition in Response to Crises, the Leaders' Statement to Develop the ASEAN Digital Economy Framework Agreement (DEFA), the ASEAN Leaders' Declaration on ASEAN as the Epicenter of Growth, and the ASEAN Blue Economy Framework. With over 200 delegates in attendance, the AECC Meeting featured the participation of economic ministers from all ASEAN member countries, as well as the presence of the ASEAN Secretary-General, H.E. Kao Kim Hourn.
