Nusa Dua, Bali
15 May - 17 May 2024
The "Clean Energy Ministerial Senior Officials Meeting and Mission Innovation Annual
Gathering (CEM & MI)" was held at The Mulia Resort in Nusa Dua, Bali, drawing 250 delegates
from 30 countries, including Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Indonesia, Japan,
Korea, Russia, the United Kingdom, and the United States. During this event, the Indonesian
government reaffirmed its commitment to accelerating the clean energy transition by ensuring
fair and equitable access for all. Mr. Dadan Kusdiana, Secretary General of the Ministry of
Energy and Mineral Resources, highlighted the critical importance of inclusive access to
electricity and clean cooking solutions. He stressed that international collaboration is essential
for expediting the clean energy transition. At the CEM & MI, both Indonesia and Australia
played pivotal roles in orchestrating ministerial meetings aimed at hastening the global shift
to clean energy. The discussions emphasized that cross-border partnerships are crucial for
achieving a greener and more sustainable future. These partnerships focus particularly on
investment and capacity building in developing countries, ensuring that the benefits of the
clean energy transition are shared equitably across the globe. The success of this conference
was due in large part to the efforts of Mr. Jean-François Gagné, Head of the Clean Energy
Ministerial (CEM) Secretariat, and Mr. David Higgins, Brach Head, International Net Zero
Pathways Branch Australia.Â
