The Government of the Republic of Indonesia and the Government of Australia co-hosted the Third Bali Regional Ministerial Conference on People Smuggling, Trafficking in Persons and Related Transnational Crime (Bali Process) III, held at Bali International Convention Center, Nusa Dua, on 14-15 April 2009. The Conference was attended by 250 delegates including representative from 41 Asia Pacific countries member to the Bali Process, 19 other participating countries and other Bali Process Organizations. Opened by The Indonesian Foreign Minister, Dr. N. Hassan Wirajuda, the conference has provided a valuable framework for regional cooperation to prevent and to address irregular people movements.
