UNESCO organized the Global Media Forum themed "The Role of Media in Realizing the Future We Want for All" at Bali Nusa Dua Convention Centre. The conference was supported by United Nations Information Centre, the Ministry of Communication and Informatics RI, the Indonesian Press Council, the Indonesian Future Leaders, and BBC Indonesia. Officially opened by the Minister for Communication and Informatics, H.E. Tifatul Sembiring, the conference was attended by more than 300 participants from 24 countries. High-ranking officials present at the conference included UNESCO Director General Irina Bokova, the Director of UNESCO Jakarta Office Hubert Gijzen, and Minister for Education and Culture RI.
