The ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on Social Welfare and Development (AMMSWD) is an annual event held in ASEAN member countries, attended by Ministers and Senior Officials from ASEAN+3 (PRC, Japan, Korea). This year, Indonesia hosted the meeting at Hotel Borobudur Jakarta, attended by more than 200 delegates. The ministers joint statement, inspired by the message of H.E. Khofifah Indar Parawansa, Minister for Social Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia and Chair of the AMMSWD, called for more inclusive, systematic, and sustained initiatives on social welfare and development. This resonates with the ASEAN Community Vision 2025, particularly in championing the welfare of children, persons with disabilities, older persons, and other vulnerable groups.
